Hi! This a place to keep me and you motivated in the journey of being active and healthy.
I grew up in Cordoba Argentina, loooove my country, love my culture, love my family… Miss them a ton.
I moved to the US right after high school to do an intensive English program for 6 months at BYU in Provo Utah. After 2 months of being there, I got huge lol and also met the love of my life! my best friend and lover! Daniel Johnson. Growing up in Argentina, I had a very active life and enjoyed my mom’s healthy cooking, but when I found my self on my own, I really thought I could eat whatever, barely move a finger and still stay fit. Well, like I said before that didn’t happen, I gain 20 pounds in less than 6 months. I was so unhappy, my clothes didn’t fit and I hated getting dressed to go out. Something needed to change, and quick!
Needless to say that I never went back home to Argentina, we started dating and after 2 years we got married. I managed to loose the weight in one year eating smaller portions, but my body was still far from what I wanted it to be.
That’s when my journey with exercise started. First with dancing, did lots of that, still do (currently teaching a Latin cardio class that’s a blast πŸ˜‰ but the clean eating part and weight lifting started at the beginning of 2013. Completely fell in loved with weights and realize how important healthy eating is if you really wanna get lean. It wasn’t until I combined the two of them that I started seeing amazing results, I was sick of plain old cardio. Year after year doing hour long sessions to look the same way every year: flabby and just there…. So of this scenario sounds familiar to you, let me tell you again, consistent weight training paired with clean eating it’s the key, at least for me πŸ™‚
Going back to my life, I have been married for 10 years now and I love Daniel more than the first day, he’s my all. We have the awesomest boys, Tommy (7) sweet and a pleaser, Max (5) toe head with a spicy Latin personality and Leo (2 1/2) the most spoiled of the tree bcs he’s the last one! A cutie pie…
I wanna help woman, motivate them, it’s not easy but it’s sooooo worth it. I’m doing this blog to help them and help my self also, I need daily motivation because I loooove food, and most clearly, fatty food lol, so I realized I just needed to get a little more creative with healthy food πŸ™‚

CHOOSE FIT HAS BEEN NOMINATED with the “VERSATILE BLOGGER AWARD! THANK YOU!
In a nutshell, I love life, God, my kids, my man, my friends, and feeling healthy and fit!

I’m so glad that you started this blog. You are such an inspiration. I can’t wait to read your website from “cover to cover” (or whatever the internet equivalent to that is) πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for checking out my website at toneuptoronto.com and liking my post about bloating.

I was wondering, do you think women should lift the heaviest weights that they can for fewer reps or lighter (but still heavy) weights for a few more reps?

I love to do bicep curls with 5 pound weights while I watch tv and end up doing several hundred a day (and sometimes 1,000-5,000 at at time). How bad is this? I know that it is important to balance your muscles so I try to do tricep dips, but there is no way I can do as many tricep dips as I do bicep curls.

    • hi girl!!! thank u for writing and visiting the blog!!! πŸ™‚ I would recommend you did 2-3 sets of 12 reps with the heaviest weight ( that last rep should hurt 😁) and then work your way up!! I started with 5 pound for bicep curls, now I use 25 lbs, and my arms a a good definition, read the article here about who woman should lift heavy.
and this goes for every part of the body, it was then we I noticed changes πŸ˜‰ have a great day!!!!!
